Former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure has cautioned Nigeria Technical adviser, Augustine Eguavoen over the inclusion of Watford striker, Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis, ahead of the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.

Dennis was handed a recall to the senior national team of Nigeria by Eguavoen for the World Cup qualifiers playoff games against Ghana.

Nigeria take on Ghana in the 20,000 –capacity Cape Coast Sports Stadium as from 7.30pm on Friday 25th March, with the reverse leg set for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, 29th March as from 6pm.

Speaking after Arsenal’s round 28 Premier League win against Watford on Sunday, Yaya Toure thinks the 24-year-old plays for himself and not the team.

“Dennis is the top scorer and he looks very much the player who can hurt Arsenal but he appears to be playing for himself.

“He doesn’t put in enough work without the ball and even during kickoff, he didn’t take the knee with the rest of the team. He can do more for the team.” Toure said.

The striker has scored nine goals and provided five assists for ‘The Hornets’ in 25 appearances since he joined the southern England team from Club Brugge.

Dennis reportedly had a running battle with former Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr who questioned the players attitude.
