Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Liverpool’s forward, Mohammed Salah is a mixture of Ronaldo and Messi.
Mo Salah scored his 20th Premier League goal of the season from the penalty spot yesterday as Liverpool cruised pass Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex stadium, Brighton.
“Mohammed Salah is a mixture of Ronaldo and Messi, he can whine with the ball and he has improved a lot. Wenger said to BeinSport.
“From august last year until the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, he has been the best player in the world. I’ve seen him score goals he has been exceptional.
The 29-year-old contract expires in June 2023 but there is no agreement yet between the club and his representative, Ramy Abbas.
Arsène Wenger thinks Liverpool needs to do everything to keep the Egyptian who currently tops the Premier League scoring chart with 20 goals in 26 appearances.
“You will not want to lose Salah and mane, they are now part of Liverpool’s history. Wenger concluded.
Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp said it is up to Salah, who has 153 goals in 238 appearances for the club, to decide whether he wants to stay or leave.
“Mo definitely expects this club to be ambitious. We were in the last few years and we are.
“We cannot do much more, that’s how it is. But I don’t think it’s about that. It’s Mo’s decision pretty much. The club did what the club can do. That’s how it is”, Klopp said before the Brighton – Liverpool game.
The AFCON 2021 finalist previously said he wants to stay, but that his future is in Liverpool’s hands and he is not asking for “crazy stuff”.
“I want to stay, but it’s not in my hands. It’s in their hands. They know what I want. I’m not asking for crazy stuff,” Salah said to GQ in January.
