Napoli head coach, Luciano Spalletti has hint on the area Nigeria international forward, Victor Osimhen needs to improve on to be a formidable player.
Osimhen struck in each half to give Napoli a 2-1 win against the host at the Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi stadium on Sunday.
The win takes Spalletti’s men to three points behind Milan come the end of the weekend, with Inter four points back in third after picking a point at the death against Torino on Sunday night.
According to Tutto Napoli, Osimhen with his brace at Verona became the first African in the history of the Serie A to score a brace at Verona.
He celebrated his brace by grabbing a camera by the pitch side and taking pictures of Napoli fans.
“(Kalidou) Koulibaly gave me the camera to take a picture of the fans who have been amazing from the blast of the whistle to the very end. I think they deserved to get a shot.” He said.
Osimhen now has nine goals in the Serie A, the most from Napoli’s team. Despite being the team’s top scorer, Spalletti feels Osimhen has areas where he needs to improve.
“Osimhen still doesn’t realise the distance from his marker, sometimes he runs towards the ball and has the time and space to control, pick his spot. He doesn’t need to rush,” Spalletti said to DAZN.
“He can start a run from midfield; take on four or five defenders by himself with that pace, so he has such potential.” He concluded.
