Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to go all out on anyone who criticises the Red’s right back, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 23-year-old defender was in action on Wednesday when Liverpool outclassed the London team, Arsenal at home.

The German gaffer had previously described Trent as an “outstanding” player earlier this year. And yesterday’s performance didn’t go on noticed either.

Trent was on point as he made Arsenal’s forward, Gabrielle Martinelli, look ordinary after 90 minutes.

“Apart from the diagonal balls to Martinelli, which Trent defended incredibly – Martinelli is such a talented boy – it’s really tricky.

“If anybody says to me Trent cannot defend, they should come to me, I’ll knock them down. Honestly, I cannot hear that anymore. I don’t know what the boy has to do!” Klopp said to Sky Sports.

Alexander-Arnold won 50 percent of his tackles and ground duels and made six recoveries in a defensive phase, with his output improving in line with the rest of the team yesterday.

The German manager’s team victory ended Arsenal’s five-game winning run. The win sees them extend their winning streak to nine games in the Premier League to stay hot on the heels of Pep Guardiola’s with just a single point separating them.
