Thomas Tuchel has broken up with his 46-year-old wife, according to friends, who claim they have “exhausted” all options to stay together.
After many attempts to keep the family together, the Blues manager and his wife Sissi, 46, filed for divorce last week.
Tuchel, 48, has been dealing with the consequences from the club’s Russian oligarch owner, Roman Abramovich, as well as the disintegration of his marriage.
Mrs Tuchel, a former journalist, arrived to the UK in August, seven months after her husband, former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, joined Chelsea.
He lived in a motel near the training facility in Cobham, Surrey, at first, before establishing a family home nearby.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: “Sissi and Thomas have tried to avoid splitting but in the end there was no other way,’ said a source.
“It is very sad and now it is all about making sure their daughters are the top priority. Papers were lodged last week to get the divorce under way.”
Tuchel, who is thought to be paid at least £7 million per year, could suddenly be facing a multi-million pound divorce settlement.
Thomas’ wife is said to have resigned her profession as a reporter for the German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung in order to raise their children.
Sources close to the couple claim they want to maintain the situation “amicable,” therefore she may be entitled to a portion of his future earnings as well as up to half of his existing income.
