Chelsea Brazilian left back who is currently on loan in Olympique Lyon, Emerson Palmieri says he has no problem staying the Ligue 1 side.

Emerson joined Chelsea in January 2018, signing in an initial £17m deal from Roma. However, he has never really established himself as a regular with a string of managers failing to be convinced by Emerson.

The 27-year-old defender moved to France in August 2021, and has proven a huge success with Peter Bosz’s side, having made 32 appearances in all competitions and establishing himself as a key member of the Les Gones.

Speaking before Lyon’s Ligue 1 game against Brest, Emerson said he would be interested in staying with the French club beyond the end of the season.

“I have no problem saying that I could stay at Olympique Lyon for next season. It’s a pleasure to play here, but it’s not up to me. I’m focused on the last six games of the season.

“The Bordeaux victory was important for us, we responded in the best way, but we want to continue that form. The elimination [to West Ham in Europe] is still a bit in our heads but we have to move on. Now, we must focus on these last 6 games to come.” He concluded
