Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Premier League goal as Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-1 in their English Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Arteta’s men went ahead through Nuno Tavares just 180 seconds after kickoff, and then doubled their lead in the 32nd minute, thanks to a Bukayo Saka penalty.
Ronaldo would reduce the deficit two minutes later – his 100th Premier League strike – but United failed to find the equaliser even when they had a clear chance to, as Bruno Fernandes’ penalty hit the woodwork early in the second half.
Ten minutes after the restart of the second half, Bruno Fernandes spurned an incredible opportunity to seal Manchester United’s comeback against Arsenal after a penalty was awarded for a handball on Nuno Tavares.
With 20 minutes left on the clock, Granit Xhaka hit a superb strike to restore the Gunners’ two-goal advantage and that was enough to seal all three points.
Reacting after the game, Ralf Rangnick was asked if the dressing room is a disaster.
“I don’t know, you have to ask Jesse Lingard. Obviously, after games like today, there is massive disappointment in the locker room. This is for me is normal.” He said.
Arsenal are now in fourth place – three points above Tottenham (fifth), who have played a game less.
Manchester United are now sixth on the table, only two points above West Ham, who have a game in hand on the Red Devils.
