Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo Olu has insisted that Arsenal deserved the maximum three-points in their Premier League London derby against West Ham on Sunday.
Two headers from Arsenal’s defensive duo Gabriel and Rob Holding was enough for Mikel Arteta’s men to see off a stubborn West Ham side.
The governor of Lagos State is known to be a massive supporter of Arsenal.
Speaking with AFTV after the game, Sanwo-Olu described how it felt when West Ham equalised through Jarrod Bowen minutes after Holding put the Gunners ahead.
“We where all watching it (West Ham Vs Arsenal ) sitting at the edge of our chairs, I was as positive as I certainly was, I had my doubts, are we going to just slip points here (London Stadium) today?.
“And at the end of the day, I think Arsenal deserves the three points. It was well soaked in, there was a whole lot of pressure. You could see that West Ham brought their two big guys in the last 20 minutes into the game.
“You would have thought that will change the game plan, I think Arsenal was ready and able to soak in the pressure, and at the end of the day, I think it was a well deserved three points for Arsenal.
“And I dare say that with wins like this, we would be able to have a lot of Arsenal fans that either moved to other teams or are just on the borderline with things that happened in the last three matches, if only we can just pick it up and sustain it like this.” He said.
