Liverpool forward, Mohammed Salah says he can’t wait to face thirteen times Champions League champions, Real Madrid in the final.
Madrid produced a dramatic display against Man City at the Santiago Bernabeu to book a place in Paris later this month.
Speaking on Tuesday after Liverpool’s win against Villarreal, Salah said he will rather play Madrid in the final than Man City.
“I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest, City’s a really tough team, we play against them a few times this season. If you ask me personally I would prefer Madrid.
“Because we lost in the final before against them. So I want to play against them, hopefully win it against them as well.” Salah told BTSPORT.
A Riyad Mahrez’s second-half strike had seemingly booked his team passage through to the final in Paris.
But Madrid, like they have multiple times in the competition, found a way back, scoring two goals in as many minutes to level the tie and force extra time.
Five minutes into the extra time, Benzema was fouled by Ruben Dias inside the box and the French striker calmly dispatched the penalty.
Benzema has now equaled Cristiano Ronaldo for most goals scored in the knockout stage of a Champions League season. The goal against Manchester City was his tenth goals in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages this season.
Salah took to his official Twitter account to remind Madrid of what he said on Tuesday.
