Paul Onuachu was on target for his club side, Genk against Charleroi in the third day of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League play-offs.
Charleroi started the game in the front foot when Côté d’ivoire Vakoun Issouf Bayo connected with a sublime pass from Belgian Ken Tshiend to give the host who had lost their previous two matches the lead.
Paul Onuachu was introduced at halftime for Ghanaian Joseph Painstil at the beginning of the second half, and with 10 minutes of action left to play, Onuachu found the back of the net, to end his three-game barren run. The lanky forward have now found the back of the net 20 times in the ongoing season.
Four minutes after drawing level, the visitors took the lead courtesy through Norwegian Kristian Thorstvedt who tapped in from close range to give the ‘blue and white team the lead.
A good deep pass from Morioka was met by Bayo, scoring his second goal of the night. The striker entered the rectangle before crossing his shot and scoring his ninth goal of the season in the 93rd minute.
VAR denied Charleroi a third goal that was disallowed as Bayo was ruled offside while scoring shortly after he scored the second of the night.
Reacting after the game, Bayo said it was “almost perfect.
“It was almost perfect of the third goal was accepted, it is football. We have our all, same as the supporters. They are magnifique”
