Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah exemplary performance was not enough to save his South African side Orlando Pirates from a defeat to Morocco’s RS Berkane on penalties in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup inside the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.

The former Akwa United defender won nine (9) of the 12 duels he contested, made four (4) clearances, two (2) interceptions, two (2) tackles, blocked one (1) shot, nine (9) successful long balls, won one (1) foul.

Orlando Pirates having suffered a defeat in this competition final in 2015 and looking to win their first continental title since 1995 saw their hope dashed when Man of the Match winner, Thembinkosi Lorch, lost at penalty shootout.

After a barren 90 minutes, Berkane had led the game courtesy of Youssef El-Fahli penalty goal six minutes into extratime. Thembinkosi Lorch goal deep into extratime was enough to take the game to penalties.

Berkane won the game on penalties 5-4.
