FAP recorded a shocking victory over host REG to become the second team to reach the semi finals of the Basketball Africa League.

REG who had the backing of a large home crowd at the Kigali Arena failed to go past the Cameroonian champions as they were beaten 66-63 in the second quarter final of the day.

The Rwandans mostly depended on shooting threes and paid for it when it truly mattered.

REG shot 8-36 from the three point line and were culpable as they turned the ball over 25 times.

They also shot 15-61 from the field in the entire game.

FAP dominated for most part of the game despite getting booed by the raucous home crowd.

Deshaun Morman had 14 points, four rebounds and three assists, Tyjhai Byers added 10 points and 10 rebounds in 16 minutes and Joel Almeida had 10 points for FAP.

REG had a consecutive three pointers in the last 6 mins of the game to reduce the deficit to 1 (58-57).

REG made attempts from the 3 point line but every time they tried it came back to hurt them thereby handing the victory to FAP who kept it together to reach the semis of the 2022 Basket ball Africa League.

Cleveland Joseph Thomas Jr and Dieudonne Ndayisaba Ndizeye both combined for 34 points.
