Real Madrid goal keeper, Thibaut Courtois, has told everyone to put enough respect on his name after making an incredible 9 saves in last night Champions League final against Liverpool.

Courtois, 30, won the final Man of the Match award after ensuring his side won the game with a remarkable 9 saves, the most by any goalkeeper since 2004.

Real Madrid won the final 1-0 to win the title for a record 14th time which is double of the second team and making it 8 straight UCL final without defeat.

Vinicious Jr’s goal made the difference but it was Thibaut Courtois 9 saves that won them the title.

Courtois speaking after the UCL win said that most people do not accord him enough respect and needed to win to prove them wrong.

The 2018 FIFA Golden Glove winner told BT Sport “When Madrid play final they win it, I’m on the good side of history,

“I saw a lot of tweets coming my way saying I’ll get humbled today but it was the other way round.

“I needed to win this final to put respect on my name. Because I dont get enough respect, especially in England. “

The Belgian was subjected to heavy criticism after his former side, Chelsea, won the UCL last season.
