The new manager of the Super Eagles has revealed the pattern of football Nigerians should expect from the national team.

Jose Peseiro, 62, discussed on the qualities of players at his disposal and how he intends his team to approach games, their formation and tactics.

The Portuguese manager in Wednesday’s press conference praised the calibre of players in the squad and the speed at which they learn.

“I know I have players with quality who learn very quickly,” Peseiro revealed.

“It’s different when you train Nigeria than other teams who don’t have qualities like our players. What I know is that they learn quickly,” he added.

Speaking on his tactics and formation, Peseiro hinted on how his team will approach games.

“I like to attack, I like to play with high pressure, I like to command the game with the ball. I can do it with 5-3-2, 4-4-2 and 3-4-3 as you want but we need time.

“It’s not about the model, the main thing is the principle.”

Having lost the first two games under the new manager, Nigeria will play its first competitive game against Sierra Leone on Thursday at Abuja.
