The Portuguese manager has promised to lead the three times African Cup of Nation Champions to another AFCON title.
Jose Peseiro was officially introduced to the Minister for Youth and Sports on Wednesday. During the pleasantries, he revealed his plans for the Super Eagles.
Despite his team performance, Nigeria lost the first two games under the manager. However, Peseiro has promised to put those loss behind him and lead the Super Eagles to another AFCON title.
“I came here for one goal, I want to win the next AFCON for my fantastic players and for Nigerians”, Peseiro said, as per OgaNla Media.
“I am confident because I believe in this team, I believe in the quality and the number of good players.
“I have followed Nigeria’s history in football from the 1994 and other successful teams and I want to bring back that joy again.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presented Jose Peseiro to the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dare.
The Minister advised the coach to produce a formidable and competitive Super Eagles team, a team Nigerians will be eager to watch.
“Whenever the team does not win, it must be clearly seen to have demonstrated high-level commitment, fervor, consistency and discipline on and off the pitch.” the minister said in his remarks.
“In order to be able to appreciate the deep love of our people for the game and why they want their team to win all the time, you have to live in our country, enjoy our food, our weather, our hospitality.
“I want to let you know that the process that produced you was governed by diligence, commitment and spirit of team work, and indeed very thorough.
“I believe that you will use this opportunity to make a mark by leading the Super Eagles to new heights.”
The Super Eagles will face Sierra Leone on Thursday and will hope to end their five-game winless run.
