The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have beaten the Black starlets of Ghana 4-2 in the U17 AFCON Qualifiers on Saturday June 11.
it was the opening game of the qualifiers and the Golden Eaglets revenged the Super Eagles as they won the Black Starlets at their backyard in the Cape Coast Stadium.
Nigeria U17 opened the scoring with a sublime freekick from Michael Emmanuel thirty yards out in the 12th minute.
Nnduka Ugbade’s boys doubled their lead with a poacher’s finish by Precious William in the 43rd minute.
With only eight minutes played in the second half, Jubril Azeez found the back of the net to make it 3-0 punishing the Black Starlet goalkeeper’s error.
Abdul Razak Salifu pulled one back for the Black Starlets in the 58th minute to give them a lifeline in the closing stages.
Substitute Light Ike put the game beyond the reach of the Black Starlet by making it 4-1 in the 78th minutes.
Collins Agyemang converted a penalty to give Ghanians a consolation in the 88th minute as the game ended 4-2 in favor of the Golden Eaglets with Michael Emmanuel voted Man of the Match.
The Golden Eaglets will face Togo on Tuesday as they seek to claim maximum point.
