Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers admits that Victor Osimhen is still Nigeria’s most preferred striker.
The Genk forward who spent last season on loan at Feyenord explained the striking preference in the Super Eagles as reported by owngoalnigeria.
The 27-year-old who scored Super Eagles only goal during the friendly games against Mexico and Ecuador in the US said he was not disappointed that he didn’t feature in the first AFCON qualifiers match against Sierra Leone as he knows Victor Osimhen is the team’s main striker but hopes to feature in the upcoming game against São Tomé and Principe.
“Victor Osimhen is still the number 1,” Dessers admitted.
“But in the US he was not there and got my chance, along with Terem Moffi.
“It’s a shame we lost those games, but showed something. Hopefully I’ll be in the squad this week.”
Dessers was an unused substitute in the Super Eagles 2-1 win against Sierra Leone on Thursday and he is hoping to feature against Sao Tomé and Principe on Monday.
