The parrots of Sao Tome and Principe will indeed have a long story to tell when they get home after the Super Eagles thumped them in Morroco 10-0 to win their second qualifying game of AFCON 2023.
Jose Peseiro led Super Eagles to their biggest ever win today, beating the 63-year-old record against Republic of Benin in 1959. Victor Osimhen also joined an exclusive list as he became only the third Nigerian to score four goals in a senior match.

Match Captain, Moses Simon made it 2-0 in the 28th minute after burying a wonderful pass by Victor Osimhen at the back of the net.
Osimhen’s strike partner, Terrem Moffi made it 3-0 two minutes before the end of the first half. He ended up scoring a brace but was substituted for Sadiq Umar before he could net a hattrick.

Terrem Moffi, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen scored three goals in 6 minutes to put the game beyond damage control for the home side and cap Victor Osimhen’s hattrick.
Osimhen scored his fourth goal of the day and Nigeria’s ninth before Emmanuel Dennis converted the tenth and final goal from the penalty spot in the 90th minute.
Nigeria now tops the AFCON qualifying group comfortably with 6 points and 11 goal difference.
