Israel Adesanya has defeated Jared Cannonier to retain his middleweight title at the T-Mobile in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Nigerian made quite an entrance with the WWE Undertaker inspired entrance. The ensuing performance wasn’t quite as free flowing as he had to depend on judges unanimous decision to defeat a vicious fighter like Jared.

Adesanya used the length of his arms well to keep his opponent at a distance, dominating the first round.

In the second round, Adesanya came after Jared very aggresively and the Nigerian didn’t give Jared any opportunity to breathe or throw punches back.

Cannonier best moment came when he occasionally tried to take down Adesanya and land a jab on him but the champion was always resilient enough to fight back and land his own punches.

The fourth round did not change much as Jared Cannonier lacked hunger and will to take the fight to Adesanya.

Fans started filtering out of the arena in the fifth round when it was clear that the Nigerian British-born fighter had won the contest.

In the end the judges gave all points to the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya 49-46, 49-46, 50-45.

After the fight, the 32-year-old was asked for his next step, having already defeated most of the top fighters in kickboxing.

Adesanya called out Alex Pereira who holds two kickboxing win over him.

“[our previous fight] was an error on my part,
