Bayelsa Queen, Gift Monday have been nominated for the young Player of the Year and inter-club Player of the Year at the CAF awards.

The Super Falcon is joined by Rivers Angel star Maryanne Ezenagu for the inter-club Player of the Year after an awesome season.

Gift Monday is currently in Morroco representing Nigeria with the Super Falcons and will be hoping to fill in for Asisat Oshoala who has been declared out of the tournament after suffering an ACL.

The Bayelsa Queens forward will be contesting for her first WAFCON title and Nigeria’s tenth.

The 20-year-old won the Best Player and Top Scorer of the just concluded Nigeria Women Football League .

Nigeria U20 star Flourish Sebastiane was also nominated alongside Gift Monday for the Young Player of the Year.

Sebastiane flourished for Nigeria when she scored a hattrick against Senegal in the FIFA U20 World Cup qualifiers. Other nominees for the award are Rukiya Bizmana, Rediet Assresahagn, Evelyn Badu, Doris Boaduwaa, Yasmine Zouhir, Hapsatu Malado Diallo, Clara Luvanga, and Fauzia Najemba.

Rivers Angel was also nominated in the Club of the Year category but will face stiff competition from Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Ghana’s S.Hasaacas, AS FAR of Morocco, Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea, Egypt’s Wadi Degla, Rivers Angels and AS Mande of Mali.
