Super Falcons’ coach, Randy Waldrum has called out the Nigerian media following his team’s 2-nil victory over Botswana.

The Falcons’ who have been crowned champions of the continent nine times revived their hopes of winning the tournament in Morocco.

Despite having the Star player Asisat Oshoala ruled out of the tournament due to injury, Waldrum’s Women put up an impressive show.

A first half goal by Ifeoma Onumonu and another in the second half by substitute, Christy Ucheibe saw Nigeria cruise to victory at the Moulay Hassan FUS, Rabat Stadium.

“Media in Nigeria is very negative,” said Waldrum after leading Nigeria to a deserving 2-0 win against Botswana on Thursday.

“We don’t want distraction in our team. We are trying to qualify for the World Cup and the teams must be isolated.” He concluded.

Nigeria will play their last Group C game against Burundi who are yet to register a win in the tournament on Sunday by 9pm GMT +1.

A win for Nigeria will see the Super Falcons advance into the last eight with the semifinalists securing slots at the 2023 FIFA Women World Cup.
