Manchester United coach, Erik Ten Hag insists the Red Devils’ have Ronaldo in their plans this season and are not prepared to let him leave the club.
Ronaldo who missed the start of training with the English Premier League giants last week due to a family issue, also didn’t make Manchester United’s pre season tournament.
Speaking before the Old Trafford club’s first pre-season friendly against Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday, Ten Hag was asked if he will let the five-time Ballon d’Or winner leave.
“We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that’s it and I’m looking forward to working with him.
“I have read it, but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together.” Erik Ten Hag said.
The former Ajax Amsterdam’s coach revealed he had spoken to the unsettled striker before the reports emerged last week that he wanted to leave.
“I spoke with him before this issue came up,” said Ten Hag. I had a conversation with him and we had a real good talk.”
The Portugese Super star is unhappy at United’s slow movement in the transfer market and failure to qualify for the Champions League, which triggered a 25% salary reduction in his contract.
