Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount believes the London team recruit, Raheem Sterling will take their level higher in all competitions.

The former Manchester City forward joined Chelsea for a reported fee worth up to £50m on a contract to 2027. He has flown to Los Angeles to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of America.

Mason Mount reacting to the signing of Raheem Sterling said : “He’s such an experience player, top class pro. I’ve obviously been lucky to play with him over the last couple of years in England where he’s captained the team at times.

“He’s someone who’s been there for a very long time since when he made his debut for England.”

Mount who ended last season as the club’s top scorer and assister in the Premier League also said he has learnt a lot from Sterling.

“He’s a top player, I have learnt a lot from him over the last few years and for him to be joining us, he’s only going to bring our levels high. He’s definitely someone who strives for high levels to win and that’s what we want.”

Sterling is a member of the Premier League’s illustrious ‘100 club’, and has proven his worth as a regular goalscorer at Manchester City over the past few years.
