Tournament host, Morocco have qualified for the World Cup alongside Zambia by beating their opponents to reach the semi-final of African Women Nations Cup.

Zambia will be making their first appearance at the world stages after successfully overcoming Senegal in the Wednesday’s Quarter final showdown.

Morocco and Zambia secured the first two of the four semi final and World Cup slot.

Zambia had to come from a goal down to equalize befoe the end of regulation period against the Senegalese.

The Senegalese lost on penalties 4-2 to concede the semi-final slot and World Cup ticket.

Host, Morocco secured their victory in 90 minutes after scoring the game winner in the second half.

Morocco beat Nigeria’s group stage opponents Botswana 2-1 with the first two goals scored by both teams within the first ten minutes of the game.

In the remaining two quarter finals fixture, Nigeria will fce Cameroon by 6pm WAT and South Africa will battle it out with Tunisia by 9pm WAT on Thursday (today).

Winners of these fixtures will qualify for the semi-final of the African Women Cup of Nations and will get automatic ticket to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
