Super Eagles forward Asisat Oshoala has made the final three player shortlist for the CAF Player of the Year award scheduled to host on the 21st of July, 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.

Despite getting injured in the first match of the ongoing WAFCON tournament, the forward still remains a strong contender for a potential record setting five African Footballer of the Year award.

The Barcelona Femeni striker won the Pichichi award for top scorer in Spain and helped her team secure the Spanish League and Spanish Cup.

However, she faces strong competition from Cameroonian Ajara Nchout Njoya and Grace Chanda of Zambia for the Women’s category.

Oshoala is the only Nigerian that was nominated for any award with Monday Gift and Rivers Angels both sidelined in their respective category of the initial nomination.
