Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has been crowned the Women’s Player of the Year in Africa tonight in Morocco.

The 28-year-old has now won the prestigious honour a record-setting fifth time, making her the most crowned African Best in both male and female categories.

Record-Setting five African best award

Oshoala won the Pichichi award for the highest goal scorer in Spanish Primera division with 20 goals despite being out injured most of the season.

She also helped her team lift the Spanish League and Spanish Cup this season while coming up short in the UEFA Women Champions League final against Lyon.

The Lagos-born striker got injured in the first group stage match of WAFCON 2022 and was unable to help her country win a tenth Women African Cup of Nations.
