The Black Princesses’ FIFA WORLD CUP 2022 preparations suffered a huge blow as they lost 4-0 to France at the Clairefontaine.
France, 2016 finalist bossed the game and wasn’t far from registering their first goal.
A first half brace from Reims forward, Becho Vicki gave the home side an early lead.
France went into the break with a 2-0 advantage and further destroyed Ghana’s hopes of a comeback at the start of the second half via a goal from Esther Mbakem-Nairo.
PSG’s midfielder and captain of the night, Laurina Fazer made it four in the 75th minute from the spot, sealing the win for the French side.
Reacting after the game, a member of Ghana’s coach crew said they learnt a lot from the game.
“The result is clear but there’s also a performance side, we need to improve on our defence.
“We also need to work better around the offsides, we learnt a lot from the game. It’s a lot of good information. We have another friendly in Costa Rica before the World Cup, and I’m sure we will level up.
Ghana have been drawn in Group D of the U-20 Women’s World Cup against USA, Netherlands and Japan. The competition will start on 10th August.
