Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey was sent off as his side lost in an eight-goal thriller to PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Super Cup.
The former Rangers man made his debut today as he was brought on for Owen Wijndal in the 62nd minute when the game was hard necked at 2-2.
Seven minutes into his debut, Ajax conceded two quick-fire goals, putting the Dutch champions and Bassey under immense pressure.
With 12 minutes from time, Bassey was sent off for lunging a rash tackle on Ismael Saibari. He was initally shown a yellow card but after subsequent VAR review, he was shown a red card.
It was a debut to forget for the 22-year-old as Ajax lost the match 5-3.
