Nigerian wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye, has successfully defended the gold medal she won in the last Commonwealth games in 2018 at the Gold Coast.

She claimed Nigeria’s sixth gold at the 2022 ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday.

Adekuoroye won the gold in the Women’s 57kg Freestyle Wrestling after beating Anshu Malik of India 6-4 in the final.

Nigeria has now won six golds, two silver, and five bronze medal.
