Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon scored Nantes first goal of the season against Lille on Friday.

After a difficult start to the new campaign, the Canaries were held on to a 1-1 draw by Lille at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Moses Simon was on show as his 28th minute strike from inside the box found the back of the net, scoring Nantes first goal of the season.

Nantes were unable to build on their lead, missing some chances they had on the break.

In the second 45 minutes, Nantes struggled to find their rhythm, playing second fiddle for most of the half.

Simon got another chance to double Nantes’ lead in the 67th minute but his header was saved by Lille goalkeeper, Jardim.

Lille second half dominance paid off in the 76th minute when Ismaily finished off a well weighted pass from Jonathan David to draw Lille level.

Both teams couldn’t find the winner in the last quarter of the game.

FC Nantes sits 13th on the French Ligue 1 table and will be hoping to clinch an European ticket this season.
