Cardiff City Manager, Steve Morrison has opened up on Super Eagles defender, Jamilu Collins injury against West Brom.
The 28-year-old Nigerian suffered an early injury in the away match against West Brom in a Championship game on Thursday.
Collins joined Cardiff City on a free from Germany and has been an integral part of the defensive setup in the first few matches of the season, putting up an impressive performance and winning the Man of the Match on his first league game.
When asked about the extent of Collins injury, the Manager said: “We don’t know at the minute, in all honesty, he will be assessed in the coming days,
The Cardiff boss was keen to remain optimistic, “With all the will in the world, let’s hope it is just that he’s in really bad pain at the minute and it’s not what we suspect it might be.
“I said to the lads at half-time, ‘If you’re going to put your bodies on the line for anyone, go and do it for him”, because he has been the best left-back in the league so far.”
Collins have been out of the national team for a while, facing competition from Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi and Ajax’s Calvin Bassey.
