Super Eagles home based team will face the Black Galaxies of Ghana in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers and the Head Coach has stated that his team just wants to win.

The home based team will face Ghanaian home based team on Sunday, August 28 in Ghana as a deciding qualifying fixture to the main African Nations Championship in Algeria next year.

Earlier this year, the Super Eagles lost a World Cup ticket to the Black Stars of Ghana after playing 1-1 at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja; hence, losing on away goal rules.

This loss sparked the existing beef between both countries and a lot of bad energy amidst fans.

However, the head coach of the Super Eagles B team has said he is not focusing on getting ‘revenge’ but winning and qualifying his team.

“I won’t say we are seeking to get revenge against Ghana because of what happened with the last game on the road to the Qatar World Cup,” head coach Salisu Yusuf said.

“We want to win and qualify for the final stage of the competition in Algeria next year. That is basically what we are pursuing.

“However, if we beat them to the ticket, which we definitely hope to achieve, then whatever description anyone gives it should be a matter of choice.”

The first leg will be played in CapeCoast, Ghana on August 28 while the return leg will be played in Abuja on September 3rd.
