Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile is set to join former Nigeria U20 coach, Paul Aibogun in the Danish division two side, Jammerbugt FC.
The 34-year-old Benin-City born defender is regarded as one of the most traveled Super Eagles player since he started his footballing career. He has played in Portugal, Spain, Belgium, France, Turkey and Finland. He last played club football with Finnish giants, HJK Helsinki.
Echiejile was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, but missed out on the 2014 World Cup in Brazil due to injury.
All things being equal, the former Rennes and Monaco defender will return to competitive football action as he team up with Paul Aibogun who was announced as the new coach of the Dannish three weeks ago.
“It has long been a big open question who should be at the helm of Jammerbugt as the new head coach. That question now appears to have been answered,” a statement read.
“It will be English Paul Aigbogun who will be at the head of Jammerbugt. He comes to the club between Pandrup and Kaas with a good amount of experience in his backpack.
“Among other things, like his predecessor Nabil Trabelsi, he has also been involved in the Nigerian Football Association.”
