The mother of the boy whose phone was smashed by Ronaldo in the match between Manchester United and Everton last season has opened up on the trolls and threats by some fans.
Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to have slapped the phone off Jacob Harding’s hand in last season’s match at Goodison park.
The veteran footballer has apologized for his conduct on that day.
Ronaldo said on his social media:
“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing.
“Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.
“I would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”
However, the mother of the boy has opened up on the targeted trolls and threats on her and her family.
“I want to see justice because there hasn’t been any,” she told The Sun as quoted by completesports.
Sarah says she was contacted by the player via telephone in the days after the incident but claims she was left “shaking and crying” because of his attitude.
Ronaldo allegedly told her he hadn’t “kicked or punched anybody” during the chat.
“I was raging and my heart was pumping,” she said.
It is understood that Ronaldo has agreed to compensate Jacob and his mum.
Nevertheless, Sarah and famous Everton fan Jacob have also victims of trolls.
“It was disgusting. My boy has a heart of gold,” she said.
“I’m scared to leave the house, always looking over my shoulder.”
