Juventus midfielder, Paul Labile Pogba has admitted to paying money to a witch doctor to protect himself, and not cast a curse on National teammate Kylian Mbappe, as accused by his brother, Mathias Pogba.

The World Cup winner has been the talking point in almost all football shows for almost a week. Mathias accused Pogba of ‘witchcraft’ and putting the family in danger – before claiming reports about an €13million extortion are false.

As reported by France Info, a police file on the case, said on Tuesday that Paul was initially told to hand over €13million (£11m) by the armed men, who were wearing hoods, and branding M16 assault rifles.

This was ‘protection money’ covering €1m a year, from the age of 16 when he first became a professional footballer, according to the enquiry source.

According to CNEWS, Paul Pogba confirmed to police investigators that he paid money to a witch doctor.

‘Paul Pogba has confirmed to police investigators that he did in fact pay a witch doctor to cast a spell, but to protect himself from injury and not to cast a curse on Kylian Mbappé.’

The 29-year-old midfielder is recovering from an injury he sustained on his right knee, he his yet to play any official game since April. “If everything goes well, from next week, he will start running a little.

“And then we will see how it will evolve. Hoping that he will come back as soon as possible, because in any case, he is a very important player for us, “said his coach Massimiliano Allegri on Tuesday, who refused any other comment.
