Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri has hinted on how his team can stop Christopher Galtier’s men in their Tuesday Champions League game.
The French capital side have perennially underwhelmed at the continental showcase much like Juventus in recent years.
Paris Saint German are in good early form, they have won five of their six opening Ligue 1 fixtures, with the only draw coming against Monaco at the Parc des Princes.
Juventus on the other end, have drawn three of five and are minus a host of star names for this Tuesday cracker. PSG’s former midfielder, Di Maria, Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa are all out due to injury.
Reacting to a question from Ojora Babatunde at the press conference in Paris yesterday, Massimiliano Allegri who already admitted that the Old Lady are playing for a second place finish in Group H said ; “How do we think we can stop PSG.”?
“We have to play like a team, even when we don’t have the ball, we have to be aggressive. Tomorrow, everything depends on how we dominate the ball. Its going to be a very difficult game, very difficult.
“Because this kind of competition is hard, this is the Champions League and we are going to be playing PSG. Its going to be difficult, but it could be a motivational game for us.”
Allegri also took time to respond to questions about Di Maria’s absence and his squad selection.
“Di Maria was available on Saturday, so he played. I didn’t want to take any risk [for the match with PSG], there are many games and it would have been useless.
“Tomorrow, Bonucci, Rabiot and Vlahovic return. Perin will start. These four will surely be on the pitch. I must decide on the others. I have to assess Alex Sandro and Paredes.
The former A.C. Milan coach who was mocked for being confused on the pitch by Italian press when they played a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on Saturday, said his team must take a step at a time.
“Tomorrow, we begin the group stage, we need 10 points to qualify. We face an extraordinary team, the No.1 favourite to win [the Champions League]. Our target is to be at their level, Juventus will play a great game technically, it will be an entertaining match.
“We must take a step at a time, we must work and improve. You don’t win titles now, it’s time to work to improve.” He said.
