It was a Super Eagles show down at the Gewiss Stadium on Sunday afternoon when Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta B.C hosted David Okereke and Cyriel Dessers’ U.S Cremonense.

The points were shared in the end to end match with both sides matching up to each other firepower. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The three Nigerians started the match but none was able to record a goal or assist, though they were very vital to the points earned by their team.

In the first half, both teams created couple of chances but the keeper were up to it.

Dessers came closest to breaking the deadlock but couldn’t find the back of the net after getting past two defenders with his teammate also calling for the ball to have a better chance at scoring.

Lookman also tried to score for Atalanta before halftime but his effort couldn’t trouble the keeper.

The game remained end to end at the start of the second half until Koopmeiners scored for Atalanta from a free kick, only for the goal to be ruled out for handball after VAR consultation.

Atalanta BC were not to be denied a second time when Koopmeiners crossed the ball from a free kick position similar to the first for Demiral to head home from the box and give the host a 1-nil lead.

Ademola Lookman was subbed off for Pasalic just after his side took the lead while David Okereke was already subbed off for Adebayo Gyan in the 68th minute when the game was still goalless.

Moments after Atalanta took the lead, Cremonense fought to earn one point as Valero was the fastest to respond to a shot pushed out by the Atalanta goalkeeper, Musso.

Cyriel Dessers was also substituted in the 83rd minute just after his team scored the equalizer.
