Cameroon football legend and present President of Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o has revealed the reason he wanted his country to lose a football match for the first time in his life.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will participating at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
In preparation for their World Cup participation, Cameroon played a friendly match with Uzbekistan at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea and lost surprisingly 2-nil.
Eto’o has backed his team to do well at the World Cup, stating that he was rooting for their opponent as they find their loopholes before the tournament and fill these voids.
“We really wanted to see the reaction of the team, and for the first time — I hoped for Cameroon to lose.
“Our objective is still the same; to depart Qatar on the evening of December 18, the date of the World Cup final.
“We won’t lose sight of our objective,” Eto’o told CRTV
