Barcelona has extended the contract of young Nigerian basketball player, James Nnaji until the year 2027.
The 18-year-old joined Barcelona youth team in 2020 aged 16 and has been improving in the Spanish Liga Endesa, averaging 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7 minutes of play of his 12 league games . He played in 13 games in the EuroLeague, averaging 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
In the league against BAXI Manresa, the center produced the best ever debut by an U18 player with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for a rating of 19.

Despite interests from top clubs in Europe, Australia and colleges in the NCAA, Nnaji decided to sign a new contract with one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Barcelona where he will continue to shuffle between the first team and Barça Atlètic with the Club’s aim being to establish him in the first team squad in 2023/24.
