Former Torino striker, Andrea Belotti says it’s an honour for him to play under Jose Mourinho.

Belotti signed a one year contract that runs until 30 June 2023 with Roma in August 2022 as a free agent. As part of the overall agreement, there is also the option for an additional two-year extension.

The 28-year-old spent seven years with the Turin based club. Netting 113 goals in 251 appearances. One of his remarkable season was the 2016/17 season. He scored 26 times in 35 Serie A outings.

According to Torino president, Urbano Cairo, Torino’s proposed renewal for the Italian striker contained a higher salary fee than what Roma ultimately offered him.

Speaking in the press conference on the eve of the Europa League match against Betis Sevilla, Belotti said ; “For me it is an honor. Mourinho is not known now, we know him over the long term and his history speaks for itself like his titles.

“The thing that impresses you most is that, despite all this, every day he has a greater desire to win than the previous day and this is one of his great strengths and for this reason he has coached great teams.

“Mourinho has had to deal with Drogba, Ronaldo, Eto’o and for me he can only be a help because he can give me advice to improve me. If there is something useful for me, it is right that I do it.” He concluded.

Belotti scored his first goal for Roma against Helsinki at the Stadio Olimpico in September. Roma won by 3-0.
