Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Super Eagles midfielder Wilfried Onyinye Ndidi will miss the next few weeks of football due to hamstring injury.

Ndidi pulled out of the Nigerian squad that faced Algeria in the last international friendly due to injury but appeared to have recovered having started in Leicester 4-nil demolition of Nottingham Forest.

However, Ndidi was subbed off at halftime of the fixture after having a sprain in the hamstring, as confirmed by Rodgers.

“We’re delighted with Monday night and we’re looking to our next game. In terms of the squad, Wilfred Ndidi will probably be out for a little bit.

“He came back from international duty with a hamstring strain. He recovered well but he felt it at half-time in the game and he was a little sore, so he might miss a few weeks,” Rodgers confirmed.

Ndidi has been suffering from persistent injury in the last two years which has been adversely affecting his club and country as he is a vital player to both teams.
