Continuing his impressive performance this season, Alex Iwobi scored a screamer within five minutes of the game after taking advantage of a good tackle by Onana on Casemiro to give Everton the lead against the run of play.

Manchester United kept on attacking the Evertonians after conceding and their attack yielded a goal when Bruno got a loose ball from Gana Gueye, passed to Anthony Martial who played a perfect through pass to Antony to bend it into the bottom corner of the post.

The visitors remained on the front foot but were set aback a little when Martial was withdrawn for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Veteran goal scorer was the one who will clinch the winner for the Red Devils after Casemiro stole the ball from Alex Iwobi and played a pass to the Portuguese captain. Ronaldo beat Conor Coady with pace and smashed a ground shot past Pickford in his near post.

In the second half, Everton played better after only having 30% of the possession in the first 45 minutes. The host couldn’t find the net with James Garner, Onana, Calvert Lewin coming close.

Marcus Rashford also tried to seal the lead for the visitors but had his goal ruled out for handball upon VAR consultation.

Super Eagles legend, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha watched his nephew, Alex Iwobi from the stands as he continues his blistering performance despite the loss.
