Liverpool forward, Luis Diaz is expected to miss six to eight weeks due to a knee injury he suffered against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Colombian got injured when he collided with Ghanaian and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey at the Emirates stadium. Liverpool lost the game by 3-2.

According to Pipe Sierra (he broke the news of the Reds’ move for the Colombian winger) the former Porto forward sustained the knee ligament damage and won’t play again for Liverpool until after the World Cup in Qatar.

This is Liverpool’s worst start in 10 years. Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored 10 points in their first 8 matches. The last time Liverpool had such a bad start in the national championship was in the 2012-2013 season.

Former Liverpool forward, Micheal Owen is impressed with Diaz performance for the Red’s. Owen believes he’s the stand-out player so far this season for Liverpool.

“Right back back to when he first made his debut, he looked like a Liverpool player,” he told BT Sport. “The way he plays, the way he chases the ball out of possession, the way he presses.

“I know the lads say Alisson has been their standout player but I think closely followed by this guy.

“Even while they’re struggling, he’s still got that great attitude. Away at Napoli, at certain times, he’s just been unbelievable this season. And in a struggling Liverpool side, by their standards, he’s been a bright spark for me.

Diaz now join the list of Liverpool players that have been sidelined due to injury. Jordan Henderson, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlainare, Fabio Carvalho and Ibrahima Konate are all out for Liverpool.
