Flamingos of Nigeria have lost their first group game of the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup to Germany on Tuesday in Goa.

Germany came back from a goal down to beat the young Nigerian ladies in an interesting encounter.

Nigeria surged forward in the first half with Opeyemi Ajakaye almost getting the Flamingos in front but the woodwork denies her fantastic strike from inside the box.

In the 27th minute, Faith Omilana pulls off a brilliant stop to deny the Germans from close range.

Minutes later, Alvine Dah was fouled outside the box and the resulting free kick was excellently converted by Nigeria’s number 3, Miracle Usani.

Nigeria held onto the lead till the halftime break.

Five minutes into the second half, the Germans went blazing and got their equalizer through Svea Stold.

Opeyemi Ajakaye also came close to restoring the lead for Nigeria but couldn’t find the net.

By the 61st minute, Germany has completed a comeback with a beautiful strike from Albee to make it Germany 2-1 Nigeria.

Nigeria failed to create chances that will stir up a comeback and eventually lost the match to the Germans.

The Flamingos will play New Zealand in three days time for a chance to qualify from the group.

However, New Zealand had earlier lost to table topper Chile 3-1.
