Victor Boniface was the messiah of Union St. Gilloise as he scored a brace for the Belgian team to earn a 3-3 draw against Portuguese outfit SC Braga at the King Power at Den Dreef Stadion in Belgium.
The visitors took the lead early on in the game as Victor Oliveira’s ’s shot was fumbled by the Omonia goalie to make it 0-1.
Five minutes later, Boniface leveled the scores as he twisted and turned a low cross from Nieuwkoop before shooting to the bottom left corner of the net.
St Gilloise conceded two more goals before halftime, with Oliveira scoring both goals to claim a first half hat trick.
The SC Braga striker was found from a Sequeira corner to head into the net and make it 1-2 before he now lobbed the goalkeeper for his third of the night.
With St. Gilloise 1-3 down at halftime, the host were not giving up as Dante Vanzeir scored a near post header from a Teddy Teuma‘s corner.
In the 67th minute, Victor Boniface was found by an early cross from Lapoussin to head home the equalizer in the six goal thriller.
Union St Gilloise remain top of the log with 10 points from four games, followed closely by SC Braga with 7 points.
