The Nigerian U17 Women’s National Team have qualified for the quarter finals of the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup after beating Chile 2-1 in India today.

Despite losing their opening match 2-1 to Germany, Bankole Olowookere led team have shown resilience by beating New Zealand 4-0 and now Chile 2-1 to qualify for the quarterfinals.

Nigeria started on the front foot by scoring the first goal of the match within 4 minutes as Ajakaiye Opeyemi set up stand-in captain Blessing Emmanuel for a beautiful finish.

The game remained 1-0 for 80 minutes with both sides spurring chances until Bisola Mosaku doubled the lead for the Flamingos.
