PSG forward, Kylian Mbappe has refuted the claims that he wants to leave the French capital club, as widely reported earlier this week.

It was believed that Mbappé wants out of the club because of the unfulfilled promises made to him by leadership of Paris Saint Germain, when he decided to extend his contract back in May 2022.

Mbappé and Neymar’s relationship has been subjected to criticism. Both players have enjoyed a quality success on the pitch this season.

However, the tension between the two attackers went public against Montpellier, with the pair squabbling over a spot-kick in their 5-2 win. After missing the first penalty, Mbappe wanted to take another to make amends. Neymar, though, was having one of it and refused to step aside. The Brazilian scored the penalty.

And since the penalty incident, both players having been on good terms. Mbappe described their relationship as “Hot and Cold”, while Neymar refused to comment on their relationship when asked by Ojora Babatunde of OJBSPORT.

Speaking after the French Classique game against Marseille on Sunday, the 23-year-old took time to speak to the press at the mixed-zone.

“I have never asked for a departure in January. That’s completely false”, Mbappé said to RMC Sport.

“I am not involved, neither near nor far, in this info. I was just as shocked as everyone else. People may think I’m involved but I’m not involved at all, I was at a nap. We were flabbergasted when we found out.” He concluded.

Neymar’s late first half strike was enough to give the home team the maximum three points , as they go top of the League 1 Uber Eats.
