Manchester United head coach, Erik ten Hag says he will “deal with” Cristiano Ronaldo after he walked down the tunnel before the conclusion of Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was an unused substitute in the game as Manchester United outplayed Tottenham.
Hugo Lloris was in a fine form as he stopped Manchester United from going ahead in the first half . Fred’s deflected effort put the Red Devils ahead shortly after half-time and Bruno Fernandes doubled the advantage with a fine curling effort.
With four minutes of regular time to be played, the former Real Madrid superstar made his way to the tunnel.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Ten Hag was asked whether Ronaldo spoke to him before walking down the tunnel, he replied : “He was there, I have seen him, but I didn’t speak with him.”
In his post-match press conference, Ten Hag added: “I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are now celebrating this victory.
“It was magnificent from all 11 players. I have to correct myself. It was also a performance from the substitutes who came on. Once again, it was a squad performance. I think what we have seen is 11 players who defend and 11 who attack. I was pleased.”
