Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala scored two goals and assisted two goals in FC Barcelona Femeni annihilation of SL Benfica women 9-0 in last night’s UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage match.
The Nigerian was named the 16th best female footballer by France Football (Ballon D’Or) on Monday.
She is now back to performing at top level for her club side after the event which saw her teammate Alexia Putellas win the prestigious female Ballon D’Or award for the second time in a row.
Oshoala assisted the first two goals of the night, excellently finding Guiterrez and Bonmati Conca to make it 2-0 in favour of Barca before the 15 minutes mark.
Asisat Oshoala soon got on the scoresheet herself as she scored a beautiful outside worldie goal in the 34th minute to make it 2-0 in favour of the Spanish side.
After the first half, Caldentey, Crnogorcevic, Geyse and Claudia Pina made it 7-0 in favour of the Spanish side who have absolutely run away with the lead.
In the 84th minute, Oshoala scored a brace when Caldentey found the Nigerian again who put the ball past the goalie and make the score a defacing 8-0.
Claudia Pina and Geyse combined to score the ninth goal and cement an extraordinaire start to the Champions League.
Barcelona will be vying on winning the competition this season having only just missed out in the finals against Olympique Lyonnaise last season.
