Nigerian striker Mathias Oyewusi scored two goals to help Zalgiris comeback from 2 goals down against Basel and earn a much needed 2-2 draw.
Basel started the game on the front foot, scoring the first goal of the match in the 1st minute of the game through Diouf.
Zeqiri made it a comfortable 2-0 for Basel at home in the 17th minute and it appeared like Basel were going to run riot on their visitors.
However, three minutes before the end of the first half, Mathias Oyewusi Kehinde pulled one back for Zalgiris to make the game 2-1 at the break.
The Lithuanian club started the second half well trying to get an equalizer until Oyewusi finally got them level in the 62nd minute.
Both teams tried to get a winner but couldn’t really get their shots on target to threaten the keepers enough.
Zalgiris are still bottom of the table with 5 points but can still qualify for the knockout stages as the first on the table Slovan Bratislava and second Basel have 8 points each.
Due to his impressive performance, Oyewusi is being nominated for UEFA Conference Leader Player of the Week.
